Thursday they started
doing the forms for the foundation walls. We showed up and all the forms were
up showing us the footprint of the house. We got some great shots and were so
happy that the schedule was only delayed one day because of the weather. Friday
morning the SR called us to let us know that the cement truck was there pouring
the cement for the foundation walls. By the time I showed up in the afternoon
and they had already finished pouring the cement into the forms, the workers
were just there smoothing everything out. I wasn't able to get too close
because they yelled at me when I tried to climb the mountain of dirt to get a
good view, that's ok I will go back tomorrow and get some pictures looking down
into the basement. We do have one concern about the foundation walls. The back
wall wasn't formed or poured, when we called the SR about this she informed us
that because that section is above grade they would be framing that section and
putting siding on it. We don't like this plan, with this the middle section of
the back of the house would be siding from top to bottom but the 2 outer
sections would have concrete walls. I cant even imagine why they think this
would look good! We have set up a meeting with the PM for Monday to find out
what option B is because option A is not gonna happen!! Has anyone else heard
of any other builder doing something similar?
Well here are some pictures that we were able to get. We can't wait to see what it looks like once the forms are removed, and they fix the back wall issue!
