This evening we went
by the lot and we have almost all of the walls for the 2nd floor. The only
thing not framed is the master bath area with the sinks and tub and that's
because we have so many custom changes that they have to frame that on
site. I was surprised to see how much they got done today. The crew was still
there at 6:00 pm building some of the roof truss. I am sure they are
getting ready to place them tomorrow!!! We are so excited to see the house
coming together. We weren't able to actually go up stairs because we don't have
stairs yet but from what we could tell the 2nd floor seems to have been done
correctly, all the windows are in place and the doors are in the right spots.
The changes to the hall bath looked framed right as well, we were not given an
option for a double vanity so we have to customize the hall bath to make
one fit.
The whole "earthquake code" nonsense is still bothering us, after looking at the videos we have taken of the house so far we see so many windows close to the corners of the house its crazy! We know that the PM was just talking nonsense and we are going to be fighting for our missing window in the morning room. We also noticed Friday evening that our Solarium is only framed to have 2 windows on the front and back and we know that there should be 3, we brought this to the SR attention on Saturday and she promised us that they will correct that mistake. So for now I have my running list of things to make sure they fix and we will see what they do on their own and what I have to point out to them.
We also met one of our neighbors down the road he was very nice he has a daughter the same age as our oldest! I gave him one of my business cards and he has already emailed me his information! Everyone seems so nice, we cant wait to move in and really get to know them.
