Hi everyone! We haven't updated in a few days because we were waiting to get our contract signed off by the builder. After a lot of back and forth in negotiations, we finally settled at a reasonable price, we had an official ratified contract Friday. We were able to keep all the options that we wanted, our SR was very helpful in this process. We had a few questions concerning the ceiling line in the family room as with the 4 foot bump out the ceiling is bevelled, we were hoping to have a flat ceiling. We are still working with the builder to see if they can flatten it at all perhaps with a bulkhead. We got to meet with the PM on Friday when we were looking at the blueprints to try to figure out the ceiling line in the family room, since he was on site the SR called him over so he could explain them better to us.
We drove by our lot again to take another look and are still very happy with our corner cul-de-sac lot, that backs to the woods.
We also set up our appointment for this coming Friday to pick out our color selections, like siding, shutters, doors, shingles, counter tops and cabinets. We also need to set up appointments with CV Security and Dunn Flooring.
We are also talking to the builder about re arraigning the kitchen layout, this is the layout that *** Builders is offering us

The area that has the peninsula connecting the kitchen and the morning room has upper cabinets as a structural support, we don't like this because it distracts from the view. We are hoping that they can change the kitchen layout to look more like the plan below:

With this layout they move the structural support over to the far right and wall it up and you still have a full view of the morning room. We haven't gotten the final approval for this change but we spoke to the SR and the PM and they both seem to think this change wont be an issue.

The final results should look something like this

The process has begun and we are so excited.
