Hi everyone hope you all had an amazing
holiday! We have been very busy with all of our house plans. We had our meeting
with the flooring company and made our selections for carpet, vinyl, and tile.
And I guess since we have been planning this house in our minds for over a
year, our choices were easy to make, thanks to all of your blogs. We knew the
only room we were going to go with upgrades was the master bath. But lets begin
with the boring standard stuff. On the main level we will have carpet in the
living room, dining room, study, and family room, and then upstairs will be
carpet everywhere but the bathrooms. The carpet we choose was called Bleached
Hay
It's a standard level carpet but with 3
children i know that it will be replaced once they get a little older. On the
main level we plan on installing wood floors after we move in so we went with
the standard padding but upstairs in the bedrooms that will stay carpet so we
upgraded that level with 6# padding.
The vinyl that we picked for the upstairs hall
bath, kitchen, morning room, halls, powder room, and laundry room is called
Montana Ridge, we went with a darker color to hide some of the scuffs and dirt
that three little children will make.
And now to the fun stuff our master bath, we are tiling the tub, shower and floor with this tile and accent. Unfortunately i didn't get any names for this tile, but we love it. The accent tile has pieces of the larger tile, stone and glass tile in a amber color. We can't wait to see it all put together.
We also met with our SR on Friday to go over
our work order. As we were there we decided to change the color of the cabinets
to Autumn brown instead of Espresso, after staring at it for over a week we
were worried that the Espresso would be too dark.
We also changed our counter tops to Madura
Citrine, we feel that this will look much better with the autumn brown until we
switch it out to granite in the future.
Now we are working on our work order to make sure everything is where we want it and once that is done which it pretty much is, we will sit down with the builder and go over it with him. We are slowly but surely moving forward and can't wait for ground breaking.
