February 19, 2013

Well yesterday was our date for breaking ground. We had tried to reach the SR all weekend to see if they were still on track for Monday but we never got a response. So yesterday we drove by the lot in the afternoon and found it just like we left it. Well not everything was the same it did have some fancy new stakes in the ground! As we were leaving the development we got a call back from our SR finally and she confirmed that they had staked the lot over the weekend and that the PM said that they would be clearing the lot in the next two days. So it looks like things are moving along just wish it was a little faster! We are so ready to see some actual changes happening. Yesterday we had the kids with us and the 2 year old kept asking where her house was, too funny. Its hard to explain to a 2 year old why her house is just some dirt right now.
Over the President Day Holiday weekend we took advantages of the sales and ordered our microwave, this is the only appliance that we needed since we are getting the double oven, stove top and fridge thru the builder and we own a washer and dryer already. We went with a
GE Microwave to match the rest of our appliance of course. We also looked at some more furniture but we still haven't fallen in love with anything yet.
So our plan right now is to drive by the lot after work each day to keep an eye out, I have a feeling that things will just begin and no one will let us know until after the fact and my husband and I would not be happy with that! Unlike most of you we don't have any contact with our PM we have to go thru the SR in order to get answers. I am trying to get them to change this because its much easier to email or call the PM directly with a question. This is one of the few things I don't like about the builders we are using. But i guess not everything can be perfect and if this is the only thing that i am not happy about I can deal with that. Hopefully we will have lots of pictures over the next few weeks and things start to take shape!
