February 3, 2013

Happy Sunday! Well since our last post we had one major change. We changed our lot once again, When we first received the phone call about not using lot 14, my husband was at work so I had to load up the kids in the snow and drive over to look at lots 6 and 20. Well I thought from the site map that I was given that lot 20 would give us the most privacy and allow us not to be right on top of our neighbors, boy was I wrong! Later that week I drove out with my husband and as we were driving thru the community I saw a lot set up like what they were offering us and the houses were so close to each other and our driveway would only be a single car driveway. To say the least we were not happy at all! So we emailed the SR and set up a meeting the next day to have someone walk the lots with us and to explain the situation about out first lot with us. After walking the lots we decided that we love lot 6 even more then our original lot! So we decided to move forward and get all the paperwork done for that lot.

Our new lot shares a road with one other lot, lot 7 and backs to a small area of trees that gives us some privacy. The side of our house will face the back of lot 5 so we are doing a reversed floor plan in order to have our sunroom on the side that faces out to the trees and the nice open space. We are so happy with this set up and can't wait to start the building process, which leads us to the phone call I got Friday afternoon!
In even more exciting news we got the call on Friday that we are ready to schedule our pre- construction meeting this week! The builders are getting our new site plan back tomorrow so we are going to try to meet with the PM Monday afternoon to go over everything and to get our date for breaking ground! We are so happy they are still promising a delivery date of June 5th and that's only 4 months away!!
Of course after reading everyone blogs and following your journey we have quite a list of questions for our PM but more suggestions never hurt so if you would like to give us a few things that you are glad you went over or maybe even things you wish that you had asked that would help us out a lot.
Have a great week!
